camping groundsWe offer an unsurpassed natural setting amongst native gums. A year-round creek containing trout and blackfish runs alongside the entire camping area. Camping facilities occupy the floor of the valley in a natural clearing on the fringes of the rain forest. A fully plumbed shower block has been built out of local timbers to service the needs of campers. The hot showers are a feature. There is ample room for your own tents or there are pre-erected six-person tents complete with camp stretchers and solid timber all-weather flooring. The camping ground has a permanent camp-fireplace and dining pavilion with tables and chairs. All facilities are lit by gas lanterns. A gentle bush walk upstream sees the vegetation change from eucalyptus forest to rain forest within a few hundred metres from the campsite. Continue on a bit further, and you'll discover several waterfalls before you leave the property and enter the Otway State Forest. At night, hundreds of glow worms can be seen along the creek banks. Please note that the number of campers at any one time is limited, to preserve the fragile nature of the area. King Parrot Cottages & Conference Retreat |
